Child safety standards
Flukto is for adults and older teenagers who want to talk to the people around them. Nothing that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child has any place on it. This page states the standards we hold every account to, how to report, and how to reach us.
Who may use Flukto
- Flukto is 18+. Every account confirms this when the profile is created.
- An account that turns out to belong to someone younger is closed. A closed account receives no new sign-in code.
What is prohibited
The following leads to the immediate and permanent loss of the account, in every language and in every disguise:
- Child sexual abuse material in any form — photos, video, drawings, text, links; real or generated.
- Sexualising a minor: describing, requesting or discussing a child in a sexual way, including so-called role play.
- Grooming: any contact with a minor for a sexual purpose, any attempt to arrange a meeting with a minor, any attempt to move such a conversation to another service.
- Sextortion and trafficking, and sharing instructions, offers or links that lead to any of the above.
How to report
- In the app: every person and every conversation has Report. Choose the reason and add what you saw. The report goes to the Flukto team, never to the person reported.
- Flukto Team thread: open in Chats for every account.
- By email: security@flukto.com — also if you do not use Flukto yourself, or cannot use the app.
- A child in immediate danger: call the local emergency number first. In Germany that is 110.
What Flukto does
- Reports about child safety are reviewed first, ahead of everything else.
- Content that breaks these standards is removed and the account is closed for good.
- A report keeps a copy of the reported content, even though ordinary chats dissolve one day after the last message. That copy exists for the review and for the authorities, for as long as the law requires.
- Where the law requires or allows it, we report to the competent law-enforcement authorities — in Germany the Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) — and cooperate with their lawful requests.
- Profile photos are checked before anyone else sees them: by a program, and in unclear cases by a person.
- Nobody sees an exact position: others see a rough point, at least 300 metres coarse and the same for every viewer, so it cannot be narrowed down.
Contact for child safety
Questions about these standards, about how Flukto prevents child sexual abuse and exploitation, and requests from authorities go to security@flukto.com. The person behind this address is responsible for these standards and can discuss how they are applied.
Standards and law
These standards follow the Google Play Child Safety Standards policy and the applicable law, including German criminal law and the EU Digital Services Act. They apply to every account and every conversation on Flukto, and we review them at least once a year.
