Staying safe
Flukto brings together people who do not know each other. That is the point — and exactly why this page exists.
Before you go
- Meet in public places. A café, a square, a street with people on it. Not at home, not at yours, not at theirs — not the first time.
- Tell someone where you are. A short message to a person you trust is enough.
- Get there and leave on your own. Do not get picked up and do not let yourself be taken somewhere you cannot leave.
- Keep your things with you — phone, keys, drink.
During the meeting
- Stop as soon as something feels off. You owe nobody a reason, an explanation or a second chance.
- Someone who pressures you, pushes you or makes you feel guilty is the reason to leave — not the reason to stay.
- Nobody has a right to your time, your address, your money or anything else of yours.
What Flukto does for this
- Nobody sees your exact position. Others see a rough point, at least 300 metres coarse and the same for every viewer: a fixed spot inside a grid cell, so looking twice narrows nothing down.
- A meeting point is always a deliberate decision by both of you, never something that happens automatically.
- Every person and every conversation can be reported and blocked, right in the app.
- Profile photos are checked before they are shown: by a program, and in unclear cases by a person. What has not been checked is visible to nobody but you.
What Flukto cannot do
We do not verify identities. We do not know who is behind a name, and we are not there when you meet. A meeting happens at your own responsibility. Anyone who promises you otherwise is lying.
If something has happened
In an emergency in Germany: 110 (police) or 112 (ambulance). Afterwards — or if it concerns someone on Flukto — write to security@flukto.com. Reports from inside the app reach us as well; the Flukto Team thread is open to every account.
