The German text is the original. This translation is provided for convenience; where the two differ, the German version applies.

Flukto brings together people who do not know each other and are standing a few hundred metres apart. That only works if a few things go without saying. They are part of the Terms of Use.

The short version

Do not write to anyone what you would not say to their face.

Everything else follows from that.

What does not belong here

Harassment. Insults, threats, following someone around. A "no" or a silence is an answer — do not keep writing.

Hate. Nothing against origin, skin colour, religion, disability, gender or sexual orientation. No playing it down, no symbols, no jokes that are only the wrapping for it.

Sexual content. No nudes, no sexual offers, no suggestive messages to people who did not ask for them. Flukto is not a dating app, and even less a place for this.

Minors. Flukto is 18+. Any hint of sexual content towards minors leads to an immediate ban and, where required, to a report to the authorities.

Other people's data. Do not post anyone's phone number, address, workplace or photos. Not even snapshots of bystanders.

Advertising and spam. No offers, no shop links, no mass messages, no bots. The same line sent to twenty people is spam, however friendly it sounds.

False identity. Not someone else's name, not their photos, no made-up role to trick a person.

Illegal things. No trading in drugs, weapons or stolen goods. No arranging crimes.

Groups

A group is a conversation among several people, with the same rules. Whoever creates it gives it a title that hurts nobody and can take back lines that do not belong there. A mention with @ is a call, not a right to an answer. Polls are visible to everyone — vote the way you would also say it out loud.

Translations

Translation is done by a program, not by a person. What sounds odd may not have been meant that way — when in doubt, read the original before you get upset.

Stickers

A sticker from flukto.com points at a spot on the map and carries your text. Put it only where you are allowed to. The text is yours and is not checked beforehand; what insults can be reported like a profile line, and the sticker falls with the account.

Photos

Show yourself. A picture where you are recognisable is half the way to a conversation. No pictures of other people as your profile photo, no ID documents, no nudity, no violence.

If something happens to you

Report. Hold the row in Chats, or open the menu inside the conversation: Report. First pick what it is about: harassment or threats, hate, sexual content, spam or advertising, a fake profile, or something else. Only for "something else" do we need a sentence from you. Notes and comments are reported the same way: press and hold. The person reported does not learn that it was you.

Block. After that you are invisible to each other, immediately and both ways.

Danger. If someone is in danger, call 112 (emergency, Europe-wide), 110 (police in Germany) or your local emergency number. We are a chat, not an emergency service.

What we do

Flukto has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. We review every report within 24 hours: content that breaks these rules is removed, and the account that posted it is terminated. In lighter cases a note or a temporary block comes first. Where life or limb is at risk we act immediately and without warning.

Hosts. In new towns you may meet Flukto hosts on the map: accounts run by us that answer and help you find your feet. They carry the line "Flukto host" in their profile. What you write to a host is answered by our own system on our own server and never leaves it.

Because content on Flukto disappears by itself, a report takes a copy of the reported conversation — otherwise it would have evaporated before anyone could read it. Only moderation sees that copy, and it is deleted 30 days after the case is closed.

If you think we got it wrong

Write to us in the Team thread inside the app. A human reads it, not a machine.
